The honor guard parades and performances of traditional Korean music, once held every Friday at the fountain plaza in front of presidential office Cheong Wa Dae, will be held on Saturdays starting November.
The presidential office said on Sunday, ¡°As the Saturday tours to Cheong Wa Dae take root and an increasing number of tourists visit Cheong Wa Dae on weekends, we have decided to change the performance day.¡±
An hour-long series of open-air performances will be held from 10:30 a.m. every Saturday. The Defense Ministry military band opens proceedings, followed by a presidential honor guard parade, then performances of traditional Korean and western music, a martial arts demonstration, and honor guard parades of women soldiers and the three armed services.
