Gov¡¯t to Freeze Wages and State Firm Hiring
The government says the difficult financial climate calls for frugal spending and a general tightening of its purse strings.

The Strategy and Finance Ministry is planning to freeze next year's wages for workers at state-owned corporations and public institutions. The ministry will recommend state companies and organizations postpone hiring as much as possible.

The thrift measures are in line with the government's move to reduce expenses and share the financial burden being imposed nationwide.
