The number of Korean cars sold in the Middle East has surpassed Western Europe for the first time.
According to the Korea Automobile Manufacturers Association, over 245,000 cars were exported to the Middle East in the first eight months of this year. This makes the region Korea's third largest auto market after North America and Eastern Europe.
The five leading Korean carmakers reported that August sales in the Middle East increased by almost two percent compared to July. Experts say this is because countries in the region are seeing economic growth thanks to abundant oil profits.
