The Ministry of Strategy and Finance says Korea's national credit rating stands between 25th and 33rd in the world from some 90 countries evaluated.
International credit rating companies such as Moody's, Standard & Poor's, and Fitch gave Korea an Ħ°AĦħ rating, indicating fairly low risk when investing in Korea's government-issued foreign-currency-denominated bonds.
Countries with a low rating are believed to be more vulnerable to the current global financial crisis.
The finance ministry says the rating implies Korea will be among the last to be severely affected by ripples from the crisis.
