Under Secretary General John D. Clemens, IVI is an international research institution that promotes vaccines for children. Its incorporated body, the Korea aid association, is a non-profit organization that assists IVI’s humanitarian aid projects, helped by some 70 renowned Koreans. First lady Kim said that, as honorary chairperson, she will advance activities to ensure children receive treatment for diseases.
IVI is sponsored by the governments of Korea, Sweden, and Kuwait and international and domestic foundations, including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, along with corporations and individuals. As host country, the Korean government provides IVI with headquarters and 30 percent of its annual operating budget.
