Kim Yoon-ok Elected Honorary Chairperson of IVI¡¯s Aid Association
The International Vaccine Institute held a ceremony marking the 11th year of its foundation at Seoul National University, and selected first lady Kim Yoon-ok as the 3rd honorary chairperson of IVI¡¯s Korea aid association.

Under Secretary General John D. Clemens, IVI is an international research institution that promotes vaccines for children. Its incorporated body, the Korea aid association, is a non-profit organization that assists IVI¡¯s humanitarian aid projects, helped by some 70 renowned Koreans. First lady Kim said that, as honorary chairperson, she will advance activities to ensure children receive treatment for diseases.

IVI is sponsored by the governments of Korea, Sweden, and Kuwait and international and domestic foundations, including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, along with corporations and individuals. As host country, the Korean government provides IVI with headquarters and 30 percent of its annual operating budget.
