60th Anniversary Exhibit to Include Unseen Letters

From Sept. 26 to Dec. 31, the War Memorial of Korea will hold a special exhibition for the 60th anniversary of the Korean military, which will feature previously unseen materials such as a letter from president Syngman Rhee to Paik Sun-yup, the South Korean army chief of staff during the Korean War, and a memo reporting the progress of truce talks from Paik to Rhee.

The exhibition will be held in exhibition hall of the War Memorial of Korea, structured under various themes including ˇ°60 Years of History of the Korean Military,ˇ± ˇ°National Defense and Science,ˇ± ˇ°Army Life and Culture,ˇ± and ˇ°For Peace and Prosperity.ˇ± There will also be interactive events.

A total of 2,000 pictures, video images, documents and objects will be showcased. The materials section will include military uniforms, weapons, training texts and notes from the liberation army, and various weapons, pictures and images related to the 60 years of history of the Korean military.
