Police in St. Paul, Minnesota have arrested several protesters who blocked a street near the Republican National Convention, refusing an order to disperse.

At least 1,000 protesters rallied in the city Thursday, the final day of the convention.

A VOA reporter on the scene saw about six people being arrested. Demonstrators were protesting the war in Iraq and other issues. The reporter says police told the crowd to disperse, and protesters refused.

Several hundred protesters have been arrested during the four day convention.
