GM Daewoo launched its new rear-wheel driven sedan Veritas in Seoul on Thursday, and announced that sales will begin on Oct. 1. The Veritas replaces the Statesman, an import from Holden Australia which GM Daewoo began selling in Korea in June 2005.
GM Daewoo stopped sales of the Statesman in March 2007 but is having another go at Korea¡¯s large sedan market after a hiatus of a year and seven months.
The Veritas sports a 3.6 l Alloytec V6 engine and five-speed automatic transmission that generate 252 horsepower. It runs 8.6 km per liter. The deluxe model is priced at W46.5 million (US$1=W1,129), the premium at W53.8 million and the luxury at W57.8 million.
