Japan has postponed this month¡¯s expected trilateral summit with Korea and China.
Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Nobutaka Machimura made the announcement Wednesday, saying the resignation of Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda on Monday ruled talks out.
The ruling Liberal Democratic Party will elect a replacement on Sept. 22, a day after the trilateral summit was expected to take place.
Machimura says Japan will try to set a new date for the summit by year's end.
