Korea's Land Area Rises to All-Time High
The Ministry of Land, Transport, and Maritime Affairs recently submitted an annual report to the National Assembly that shows Korea's total landmass now totals over 100,000 sq.km. That is 100,032 sq.km to be exact, 42 sq.km more than in 2006, due to land reclamation.

Urbanization also rose to over 90 percent, with nine out of 10 citizens living in metropolitan areas.

The report also puts the country's total population at 48.6 million, 150,000 more than last year.

The population density was 487 people per sq.km, the third highest in the world after Bangladesh and Taiwan.
