The National Assembly may give Korean expats the right to vote in all domestic elections.

The ruling Grand National Party's policy coordinator, Chang Yoon-seok, said denying voting rights to overseas citizens has been ruled unconstitutional in court, and that the government is seeking to reinstate these rights for future elections.

The GNP plans to make the revisions in an upcoming session. The law would also apply to those Korean citizens who hold foreign residency.

The National Election Commission expects the revised election law to grant voting rights to nearly three million additional Koreans.
