Beware of 'WWIII' E-mails, IT Security Firm Warns
Computer users have been warned beware of a spam e-mail spreading false news that World War III has started. In recent analysis of worldwide malicious spam campaigns released on Monday, computer security firm Symantec warned of the mail, titled "WWIII Has Started: U.S. Troops Have Attacked Iran." If users click on the video out of curiosity, they will see their computers contaminated with a malicious code and hacker may steal their personal information.

Symantec said that the Beijing Olympics and U.S. presidential hopefuls have become prime targets for many malicious spam campaigns, including those with titles "Beijing Olympics Cancelled" and "Obama Admits to Extramarital Affairs." Spammers thus attempt to get users to open their messages containing malware.

Symantec urged users to install a combined security solution with an anti-spam device in their computers and have their software updated continuously if they want to prevent contamination.
