Attracting over a million daily visitors, Busan¡¯s Haeundea Beach is the country's largest ?- and is now also the proud holder of two Guinness world records.
From 10 am to 6 pm this Sunday, a hundred art students and local residents drew a 40-by-23 meter sand picture in the auditorium of Haeundae Elementary School. They attached one ton of colored sand including blue, yellow and red onto a cloth, onto which was drawn a basic beachside scenery of parasols, seagulls and waves.
The World's Largest Sand Painting measured 920 sq.m beating the record of 859.4 sq.m previously set in Spain. The beach will also be listed in the Guinness Book of World Records for the Most Rows of Parasols, for the record 7,937 sunshades installed around 4 pm on Saturday. The category didn¡¯t exist until now. In addition, one million vacationers visited the beach on Saturday, this season¡¯s highest tally, while another 900,000 visited Sunday.
