U.S. bone-in-beef has arrived in Korea for the first time in almost five years after being banned in late 2003. Some 1.5 tons of ''bone-in cuts'' including ribs have been transferred to a warehouse in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province.
The shipment is slated to undergo almost two weeks of quarantine inspections before hitting store shelves around mid-August.
Meanwhile, opposition lawmakers are accusing the government of trying to conceal an upcoming ease in U.S. feed rules by blaming mistranslation.
