Korea is setting up a pan-government task force to exclusively deal with issues regarding the Dokdo islets including Japan's recent territorial claim over them.
The special Dokdo team will consist of officials from the foreign, maritime and defense ministries and fall under the Prime Minister's Office. The government will also create a Dokdo research institute within the Northeast Asian History Foundation.
The task force plans to build Dokdo museums in metropolitan areas, ask schools to promote Dokdo education, and push for joint development of a history textbook with Japan.
