U.S. bone-in beef from cattle slaughtered and processed according to Korea's new import regulations is set to arrive in Korea on Monday. Seoul-based meat importer Nerp Corp. says it will bring in 2.2 tons of frozen U.S. beef produced in line with the Quality System Assessment (QSA) program on Monday. Most of the cuts for rib dishes are from Creekstone Farms Premium Beef.
The meat will be the first American bone-in beef to be imported into the country since December 2003. The beef will undergo ten days of strict quarantine and be distributed as early as Aug. 10.
