Boeing to Open R&D Center in Korea
U.S. aircraft maker Boeing is close to reaching a final decision on opening its first Asian research and development center in Korea. Military news journal Defense News reports that Boeing has made significant progress in talks with Korean defense contractor Huneed Technologies to open the R&D center.

The U.S. aircraft maker will focus on modeling and simulating its future aircraft at the envisioned R&D center which could open as early as next year. Boeing operates R&D centers in England and Australia and has been looking to open one in Asia.

Thanks to fast-growing economies, Asian airlines have been lining up to buy new planes to feed surging demand for travel over the past several years.
