Samsung Electronics on Monday announced a high-tech touch-screen cell phone dubbed the Omnia, or SGH-i900.

The 3G Omnia offers haptic feedback, which makes the phone vibrate when you touch the screen. Its tech specifications nearly match those of a lap-top, providing a wide range of applications thanks to the latest Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system.

Models pose with Samsung Electronics' new touch-screen cell phone, the Omnia SGH-i900, targeted at the global market.

Users can arrange the touch-screen interface and access functions by simply moving a finger around the screen. The phone sports a 5.0-megapixel camera, and users can watch movies on its 3.2-inch wide screen.

Samsung plans to debut the phone at the 2008 CommunicAsia convention in Singapore, which is scheduled to open June 17, and begin selling it in Korea from the second half of this year.
