Korea and Turkish Militaries Step Up Military Ties
Korea and Turkey have agreed to ratchet up logistics support for each other's militaries in times of both war and peace.

Seoul's vice minister of defense Kim Jong-cheon reached the agreement in Seoul Tuesday by signing an MOU with Turkish military General Ergin Saygun.

The deal is said to give both sides a reliable source of arms and other equipment and allow for the rapid transfer of defense goods to its peacekeeping troops in Iraq.

The Defense Ministry said it plans to forge similar ties with the Philippines, Indonesia and Israel.
