Finland's state-run airline said Tuesday that it will launch service from Helsinki to Incheon airport next month.
Starting June 3, Finnair will fly a new Airbus A340-300 jet five times a week between the Finnish and Korean capitals. The flight will take nine hours and 50 minutes, one to two hours shorter than flights to Paris or London.
Jani Peuhkurinen, the head of Finnair Korea, said that Helsinki is the closest European country by air from Incheon, and the Finnish city offers connecting flights to 42 cities in Europe.
To celebrate the launch, the airline is offering round trip tickets to 42 European cities from Seoul for W810,000 (US$1=W1,039), excluding surcharges and tax, until the end of this month. The tickets must be used in June.
