SE Asia Emerges as Hot Destination for Korean Investments
Southeast Asia emerged as Korea's second-largest destination for outbound investments last year, beating the European Union.

Korea's outbound investments last year totaled US$320 billion with the U.S. accounting for a quarter of that amount, which was the largest according to the Bank of Korea.

But growth in investments to the U.S. fell 1.4 percentage points compared to 2006 while investments in Southeast Asia by Korean companies rose more than 6 percent.

Southeast Asia accounted for 19 percent of Korea's total outbound investments, beating the EU which accounted for 18 percent.
