Regulations Eased for New Domestic Air Carriers
The country will see air transport regulations eased from Thursday, lending impetus to the establishment of more low-budget airlines.

The Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs Ministry unveiled a revised law Wednesday lifting regulations on non-scheduled flights which previously required such planes to have fewer than 80 seats and be no more than 25 years old.

The nation's two biggest carriers, Korean Air and Asiana Airlines, are also expected to benefit from the changes.

A ministry official said the revision will lay a strong foundation for low-cost airline marketing and over the long haul help invigorate the aviation and transport industries by broadening people's choices.
