U.S. Senator Sam Brownback on Wednesday afternoon said the appointment of the nominee for U.S. ambassador to Korea, Kathleen Stephens, was deferred in the plenary session of the Congress, citing the State Department¡¯s unsatisfactory response to the North Korea¡¯s human rights violations. Presenting a satellite image of North Korea¡¯s No.22 Heoryong prison camp on Google Earth, the Republican senator said there is 3,300-volt electric fence around the camp, and people are being beaten and killed inside.
