Korean 'Consumer Reports' in the Works
It won't be long before Korea boasts its own version of America's venerable monthly "Consumer Reports."

The Fair Trade Commission announced that as early as August and no later than year's end it will launch a publication that gives Korean consumers objective price and quality comparisons across a range of products.

The FTC will conduct testing with the assistance of the Consumers Union of Korea.

A commission official said it will begin with reports on electronics like digital cameras before broadening the service to include many more products.

The effort is modeled on America's Consumer Reports magazine which since its founding in the 1930s has been an objective and accurate guide for the shopping public.
