Pres. Lee, UN Chief Discuss N.Korean Refugees
During his meeting with the UN leader Ban Ki-moon in New York, President Lee Myung-bak shed light on North Korean defectors, urging for more attention from the global body on related issues.

Ban in response spoke of intentions to discuss the matter with the UN's top human rights board and seek extending to the defectors the rights set under the UN charter.

Meanwhile, the UN head called on South Korea to take a more active role in international efforts against global warming, in addition to its financial contributions, noting South Korea ranked within the top ten countries for emitting the most greenhouse gases.
