The Burj Dubai tower being built by Samsung Corp in the UAE is the world's tallest skyscraper. The building will reach a height of 630 m on Tuesday, 38 months after the ground-breaking, Samsung Corp. said Monday. The Korean company is building the skyscraper in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.

The previous record holder was the KVLT-TV transmitting tower in the U.S. state of North Dakota (628.8 m). The Korean builder completed construction of the 160th and top floor on March 25, bringing it to 623 m. With the addition of a pinnacle, the building will be higher than 800 m when construction is completed.
