Korean Shares Rise on Lifted Investor Sentiment
Shares rose Tuesday as investors were encouraged by overnight gains on Wall Street, stemming from eased credit worries.

In U.S. markets, news on a revised Bear Stearns deal and better-than-expected home sales figures boosted investor sentiment.

The benchmark KOSPI added 20 points to end the session at 1,675, while the tech-heavy KOSDAQ gained nearly nine points.

On the foreign currency counter the Korean currency strengthened by almost W21 to W976 against the greenback.
