Hyundai Motor on Monday unveiled the exterior of its upcoming Genesis coupe, which is scheduled to be released in Korea in October. The car will make its official debut at the 2008 New York Motor Show on Friday.
The coupe is a performance-focused model based on the platform of the Genesis luxury sedan, which was released in January. It boasts rear-wheel drive and a 300-hp 3.8-liter V6 engine outfitted with a 215-hp 20-litre turbocharger.
Korea's largest automaker plans to ship the coupe to overseas markets including the U.S. from early next year. The basic model will be priced at around W20 million (US$1=W1,029) in the U.S.
