The soaring price of oil has made energy-saving products more popular here in Korea. Bicycles, scooters and products that save water or electricity have been enjoying rising sales.
Online shopping mall CJ Mall says this year it is selling four times as many bicycles as it did for the same period last year and ten times the level of 2006.
Products to go with cycling in the city such as helmets and face masks have also seen sales taking off.
Another Web-based shopping mall Auction says showerheads and faucets that stop water leakage and gadgets that go inside a toilet to cut water usage by up to 40 percent are also selling briskly.
