Body of Officer Killed in UN Helicopter Crash Confirmed
The body of Lt. Col. Park Hyung-jin, a high-ranking military officer killed in a United Nations helicopter crash last Monday, has been identified by the Ministry of National Defense's Criminal Investigation Command.

Park, who had been stationed in Nepal since March, last year was one of five Korean military officers on a UN peacekeeping mission there.

Park's body could not immediately be identified among the other victims because they were all severely burned.

DNA samples of all the bodies were analyzed and matched to DNA from Park's wife and son to confirm the identification.

Park's body will be flown to Korea later this week for funeral services.
