Some 4,572 imported cars were newly registered in Korea in February, up 33.5 percent year-on-year, the Korea Automobile Importers and Distributors Association said on Thursday.
The total number of imported cars newly registered in January and February was 9,876, up 26.8 percent year-on-year.
Honda was the best selling foreign brand for a second straight month with 824 units sold in February. It was followed by Mercedes-Benz (597), BMW (554), Lexus (437), Audi (361), Volkswagen (346), Chrysler (324, including Jeep and Dodge), Infiniti (288), Volvo (212), and Peugeot (204).
By model, the Honda CR-V topped the list for a fourth consecutive month with sales of 309 units. It was followed by the Honda Accord 3.5 (194), Lexus ES350 (188), BMW 528i (177), Mercedes-Benz C200 (175), Volkswagen Passat 2.0 TDI (117), Infiniti G35 sedan (116), Lexus IS250 (107), BMW 320i (106), Volvo S80 D5 (106), and Honda Accord 2.4 (105).
