U.S. President George W. Bush on Thursday said he has no intention to form personal ties with North Korean leader Kim Jong-il. At a press conference at the White House, Bush stressed the need to build personal relationships with a new Russian president who will be elected in upcoming polls. But he said that establishing personal ties with the North Korean leader is impossible.
"I learned that it's important to establish personal relations with leaders even though you may not agree with them -- certain leaders. I'm not going to have a personal relationship with Kim Jong-il, and our relationships are such that that's impossible."
Meanwhile, Bush called Raul Castro's replacement of his elder brother Fidel as Cuban leader ¡°nothing more than an extension of what his brother did.¡±
