They arrived in Korea at Gimhae Airport near Busan on Tuesday. Miss World President Julia Morely and the two beauties toured BEXCO in Haeundae and the APEC Nurimaru House on Dongbaek Isalnd during their stay in Korea's second-largest city. They also visited Busan Mayor Hur Nam-sik to discuss the southern port city's bid to host the 2009 Miss World pageant.
Morely said no decision has been made on the host city of the 2009 pageant. But she added Busan is an excellent candidate as the host city and she wants to visit the Korean port city again. Mayor Hur promised full, active support to the beauty contest if his city hosts the event. Busan ledged its bid with Miss World organizers in November last year, and working-level discussions are underway.
But other Korean cities like Seoul, Incheon and Daegu also want to host the 2009 pageant. The Miss World delegation leaves Korea after visiting Daegu on Thursday.
