A special exhibition caricaturing former and incumbent Korean and foreign heads of state as mice to mark the Year of the Rat is being held in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province in celebration of President Lee Myung-bak's inauguration. The Bucheon Cartoon Information Center will hold the exhibition until March 30. The caricatures on display were created by 21 artists, including Cho Kwan-je and Sairo, who are members of the Corea Cartoon Art Organization.
Featured in the exhibition are about 40 former and incumbent Korean and foreign presidents. Mice include Lee Myung-bak, former presidents Roh Moo-hyun, Kim Dae-jung, Chun Doo-hwan and Park Chung-hee, U.S. President George W. Bush, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Argentine President Cristina Fernandez, and former Cuban President Fidel Castro.

Lee is featured in two caricatures: one portrays him as a mouse trying to revive the economy and the other showcases him as the president bathed in perspiration alongside a mouse as he tries to re-correct the past wrongdoings and re-revise the Private School Act, which were mishandled by the Roh administration. Roh is seen as a mouse that has jumped over the military demarcation line, but left many tasks, such as the North Korean nuclear issue and the peace in the West Sea, unsolved.
Bush is caricatured as a cowboy bound firmly hand and foot by Mickey Mouse, which loves world peace. Castro, who has recently handed power over to his younger brother, is shown as endlessly driven by lust for power.
The Bucheon Cartoon Information Center said, "On the occasion of the new president's inauguration, we planned this exhibition to ask the leaders at home and abroad to get busy as mice for world peace."
