|
The top nuclear envoys of the U.S. and North Korea met in Beijing on Tuesday and discussed ways to resume six-party talks on the North Korean nuclear problem. The meeting between U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Christopher Hill and North Korean Vice Foreign Minister Kim Kye-gwan ran for more than three hours at the North Korean Embassy. The talks focused on North Korea¡¯s full disclosure of its nuclear activities, which it failed to deliver by the Dec. 31 deadline. After the meeting, Hill said, ¡°We had a discussion about what we think needs to be included in that," such as uranium enrichment and Pyongyang's alleged nuclear dealings with Syria, calling the talks a ¡°good substantial discussion.¡±
