Samsung Electronics has retained the number one spot in the world for the second straight year in terms of flat-screen TV sales. The latest ranking also shows Samsung has widened its lead over number two player Sony.
Samsung Electronics beat out the Japanese electronics giant to maintain the top position in flat-screen TV sales last year, accounting for nearly 17 percent of the global market. That's according to market research firm Display Search.
Sony trailed behind with a market share of 11 percent followed by Philips and LG Electronics.
