President Roh Moo-hyun on Monday will conduct his last presidential pardon while in office.
The outgoing president will grant amnesty to at least 60 people including high-profile politicians and CEOs who have been prosecuted on corruption and misconduct charges.
Also on the reprieve list are those who have violated the national security law and people who have been jailed for inciting civil unrest during anti-labor and other protest activities.
Former CEO of the now defunct Daewoo group Kim Woo-choong, former chairman of the Democratic Party Han Hwa-kap, and former presidential secretary Park Jie-won will have their criminal records wiped clean.
