A delegation of U.S. government officials is visiting North Korea from this Wednesday through Sunday to check on the disablement process under way at the Yongbyon nuclear complex.
U.S. State Department Spokesman Tom Casey said the group, led by Korea expert Kim Sung, will also seek to advance the nuclear dismantlement process under the six-party framework during talks with their North Korean counterparts by urging a prompt declaration of all atomic programs.
Also a team of seven American officials are expected to stay in North Korea until the end of this year to assist in the continued disablement of the nuclear facilities.
