Pop Star Ordered Back to Military Service
Pop singer Psy on Monday entered an army training camp in Nonsan, South Chungcheong Province to perform his military service again.

The 30-year-old singer had been investigated since May on charges of bribing his way into a high-tech company whose employees are exempt from the country¡¯s mandatory military service.

He was found innocent of the bribery charges but guilty of neglecting his duties at the company. The Military Manpower Administration ordered him to serve 20 more months in the military after going through a five-week basic training course.

"I'm sorry for having behaved in a way that I would not normally behave for the last seven months. I was afraid to think that I would have to perform military service again," Psy said in an interview before entering the camp. "But I'm relieved to have been cleared of the bribery charge."

If the singer appeals the decision by the Seoul Administrative Court as he has indicated he would do, he will have to stand trial while serving in the military.
