First His Pants, Then His Lawsuit, Now His Job
Roy L. Pearson, the administrative law judge in Washington, D.C., who drew international attention for the US$54 million lawsuit he lost against a Korean-American laundry owner for losing his pants, was relieved of his duties on Tuesday.

The Washington Post reported Thursday that the Commission on Selection and Tenure of Administrative Law Judges decided in an open vote last week not to reappoint Pearson to a 10-year term as a judge after reviewing his work and conduct.

The commission cited as the reasons for its decision a "lack of judicial temperament and judgment in the conduct of [his] judicial duties" and a "combative" attitude with supervisors and colleagues.
