Another Korean ship was hijacked by Somali pirates off the coast of Mogadishu, Reuters reported on Tuesday. Andrew Mwangura, head of the East African Seafarers' Assistance Programme, said the Korean cargo vessel was carrying a crew of 22 sailors and was hijacked sometime between Monday night and Tuesday morning, according to Reuters. The EASAP is a Kenya-based non-governmental organization devoted to helping sailors.
Meanwhile, CNN reported Tuesday that the guided-missile destroyer USS Arleigh Burke is pursuing the Japanese-owned chemical tanker Golden Mori, another ship that was hijacked by pirates off the Somali coast on Sunday.
