Korean golfer Choi Kyung-ju, a.k.a. the Tank, rode a real tank on Wednesday. Fresh from winning the Shinhan Donghae Open, Choi visited a tank unit of Capital Defense Command in Seoul on Thursday, where he rode Korean-made tank K1 and talked with soldiers. Choi, in camouflage uniform with a beret, said, ¡°I¡¯m often called a Korean tank in PGA tours. The tank¡¯s powerful driving force seems similar to my image.¡±

Choi demonstrated a driver shot before soldiers. ¡°While I was serving in military, I sometimes practiced golf shots with a rifle and a pine cone. Though there are some hardships in military services, push ahead to achieve your goal," Choi told them. He expressed gratitude for their warm welcome and said, ¡°For the honor of the Korean tank, I¡¯ll keep making efforts to score better on the PGA tours.¡±

Choi, whose schedule was tight, moved on quickly in a helicopter provided by the Capital Defense Command. After shooting a commercial, Choi leaves for the U.S. on Friday after 12 busy days in Korea.
