Kosdaq Surpasses 1,000 Listed Firms
Eleven years and three months after it debuted as a floor market, the number of firms listed on the tech-heavy Kosdaq has topped 1,000.

In terms of the number of listed firms, the Kosdaq leads Japan's Jasdaq to rank fourth in the world, following the Nasdaq of the U.S., Canada¡¯s TSX-V and Britain¡¯s AIM.

But the Kosdaq has been the world¡¯s second-largest tech stock market by transaction volume for seven years in a row, trailing only the Nasdaq.

A total of 1,001 companies are now listed on the Kosdaq, as four companies -- Mirae Nano Tech, Sangbo Corporation, ISC Technology and NeoTS -- recently joined the market, according to the Korea Exchange.

The market capitalization of the Kosdaq has grown more than 42 percent this year to rank fourth place in the world for a third straight year.
