Flight attendants say the best overseas destination for a short Chuseok holiday is Thailand's Bangkok, and Australia's Sydney is the best place for a longer trip. According to a survey of 204 flight attendants by Asiana Airlines on Tuesday, 24.5 percent said Bangkok is the best place to enjoy a four-night Chuseok holiday. Also on the list are Phuket in Thailand, Asahikawa and Fukuoka in Japan, Kota Kinabalu in Malaysia, and Manila and Cebu in Philippines.
For a seven-to-nine night overseas trip during the Chuseok holidays, 42 percent recommended Sydney in Australia. They also suggested LA and New York in the U.S., London in the UK and Frankfurt in Germany.
"For flights bound for Southeast Asia, tickets are almost fully booked on Sept. 22, the start of the Chuseok holidays," an Asiana official said. "Reservations for flights leaving on Sept. 23 and 24 are also nearly full."
