Korean investors purchased land and buildings overseas worth a combined US$89 million in August.
The Ministry of Finance and Economy says Koreans invested in a total of 195 overseas properties last month.
Overseas investments had reached more than $100 million during each of the previous four months.
Analysts link the reduction to the recent U.S. subprime mortgage crisis as investors cut down their investments in North America.
A drop in property investments in Southeast Asia also led to the decline.
