The Seoul Metropolitan Government has decided to designate all of the city's bus stops as non-smoking areas starting next month.
Come Sept. 1, the measure will take effect at some 8,600 bus stops and eight major public parks, including the Seoul World Cup Stadium.
The decision follows a feasibility study of the measure by city authorities.
Apartment buildings can implement the same ban after residents reach a decision by vote also from this Saturday.
