Samsung Electronics has reshuffled senior executives in the semiconductor sector, the biggest in the company¡¯s four business sectors. The others are mobile phones, LCD and digital multimedia. The semiconductor business has been flagging lately due to a sharp decline in chip prices in the first half.
The company on Sunday said semiconductor business CEO and director of the memory division Hwang Chang-gyu will from now on concentrate only on the semiconductor business.
Samsung Electronics vice president Cho Soo-in replaces Hwang Chang-kyu as director of the memory division. A Samsung insider said the company will also divide up leadership of other business sectors like Information Communication (mobile phones) and digital media.
