LG to Build Special YouTube Phone
LG Electronics has agreed to make a cell phone that can operate YouTube, the popular U.S.-based video sharing website.

YouTube is the world's largest user-created content website with about 70,000 new video clips posted every day. The site was selected by Time magazine as one of the best inventions of 2006.

LG Electronics said on Tuesday it has signed a contract with the U.S. company to develop the world's first handsets specifically designed to operate YouTube.

The phone will let users record video clips then immediately edit and post them to YouTube. It will also allow users to browse and watch other YouTube clips.

LG said it will debut the YouTube phones in Europe in the second half this year.

Ahn Seung-kwon, the head of LG Electronics' mobile communications division, said the YouTube-enabled phones will meet the demands of customers looking for innovative mobile Internet services.
