A close advisor of the former president officially confirmed on Wednesday that Chun Jae-yong and Park will get married. "Details about when and where are not known yet," the advisor said.

The Sports World daily reported that the couple are preparing to hold their wedding around mid-August, and have already received permission from both families. The newspaper said Park change the name of her 15-month-old daughter to Hye-hyun, although she will keep her English nickname Ivy. Chun's family arrived in Korea after stopping over in Japan and are currently staying in Samseong-dong, Seoul.

According to Radio Korea, a Korean-language broadcaster in North America, the younger Chun is said to have divorced in February and married Park in Southern California.

Park fled to the U.S. in 2004 after a scandal in which it was alleged that she was managing Chun Jae-yong's slush fund in 2003. Chun and Park's relationship was known to public, and it has been rumored that Chun's slush fund has been transferred to Park and her mother's bank accounts.
