Two music teachers in their 20s and 30s took part in a music contest disguised as middle school girls to help their students win, it emerged Wednesday. The group of middle school musicians won the grand prix in the competition held in Anseong, Geyonggi Province on May 18. Afterwards, rumors spread that two instructors participated in the competition on cello and violin wearing school uniforms. This was confirmed, and the school on Monday returned the prize to the Anseong Office of Education, the host of the event.
A school official said the teacher in charge ˇ°committed the thoughtless act out of excessive ambition to shine in the contest.ˇ± An Education Office official said the disguised teachers aroused no suspicions. ˇ°They looked just like schoolgirls from a distance,ˇ± he said.
